This property was recently renovated in typical old Bulgarian style: the original wooden beams were kept throughout the house, giving it its rustic character.
The downstairs mehana ( Bulgarian dining/ living area) has all the typical features such as a large stone fireplace, red stone floor and walls that are partly plastered, partly in stone.
A mehana is built in such a way that it is warm in winter and cool in summer, i.e. adapted to the Bulgarian climate.
Also downstairs is a small kitchen with pine cupboards, a sink with taps, a hatch to the mehana and room for any kitchen appliances such as a cooker and washing machine.
The kitchen provides access to the bathroom, which has a shower ( new 150l boiler), toilet and wash basin with mirror. Both the floor and walls are tiled.
Steps lead up to the first floor, where a spacious wooden terrace looks out over the large garden and surrounding mountains and meadows.
There is 1 double bedroom and 2 single rooms, separated by another room which could serve as a sitting area.
The upstairs rooms all have wooden floors and white walls.
The (new) windows and doors are painted in a dark cherry.
Plenty of electricity sockets (including TV and telephone sockets) were fitted both upstairs and downstairs.
Electricity and water are connected.
The outside walls are painted white, while the roof consists of red terracotta tiles. The chimney features an original limestone cover.
The concrete patio in front of the mehana and kitchen is covered by the terrace. There is an outside tap, handy for cleaning the patio and watering the garden.
The 1500sqm garden has a well-maintained vineyard and numerous fruit trees ( apples, cherries, peaches) and a mature walnut tree in the center.
Various flower and vegetable beds were planted as well.
At the back of the garden is a spacious barn which, with some TLC, can be easily converted into a garage, storage area or even extra guest rooms.
The entire garden is fenced, with a large wooden entrance gate at the front.
There are only neighbours on one side, so privacy is guaranteed.
